Born in Budapest in 1884, Vilmos Huszár was a graphic designer and founding member of De Stijl, the Dutch art movement known for its bold geometry and abstraction. In 1931, he designed this beauty for Rijkstelegraaf, the Dutch State Telegraph Service. It was used for radiotelegrams sent via Scheveningen Radio, the Netherlands’ main coastal radio station, its concentric circles depicting radiowaves transmitting messages across the seas.

Love the designs, of course, but also the glimpses into history.
